Another UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in Lalitpur, the Patan Durbar Square is an excellent specimen of Newari architecture, the major attractions of the trek are the MulChowk, Keshav Narayan Chowk, SundariChowk etc. Other attractions include the Krishna Mandir and the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna along with the scenes Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Nagarkot is the nearest viewpoint in the Kathmandu valley. We reach Nagarkot by passing through the “city of devotees” Bhaktapur. Located 32 km east of Kathmandu, it is known for hosting the best sunrise and sunset views of Nepal. The scenic beauty of this location makes it a popular hiking route for tourists.

This day starts with an early morning rise to witness the views of the sun shining over the tops of the snowy, flaky mountain peak ranges like the Ganesh, Langtang, Annapurna, Jugal and even the Everest on a clear day.
Nagarkot is a perfect destination for hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers. Nagarkot eco trail and the Nagarkot panoramic hiking trial are the popular hiking destinations in Nagarkot. We will move on to embark on a sightseeing journey around the naturally set villages of Nagarkot to witness the style of living of ethnic people.
Drive towards the oldest national park of Nepal in Chitwan. Today we will rise up early in the morning, in order to reach the destination of Chitwan in time. An approximately 5 hours’ drive from Nagarkot brings us to the city of Chitwan, home to the famous Chitwan National Park. The enjoyable and scenic drive is followed by a briefing by the Guest Relation officer in the lodge inside the national park. After the exciting briefing, a choice of activities will be arranged for you.
The background information about the Chitwan National Park lies in its name itself. Chitwan stands for Chitwan, meaning the leopard. Chitwan National Park is a preserved wildlife location which comprises of the great one-horned rhino, 2 species of crocodile, 2 species of monkeys, 4 species of deer, sloth bear, wild boar and the infamous Royal Bengal Tiger. If you are particularly lucky, you might even get a chance to look at this specimen of an animal from up close. 450 species of birds and various reptiles are added attractions of this naturally preserved region.
In the afternoon, an elephant safari or nature walk will surely be an experience, different from the one experienced in the trek a few days ago. Depending upon the time of arrival, activities will be set for you.
Before dinner, flora and fauna slide presentation will enlighten you about the Chitwan National Park and all of its surrounding glory. If possible, the traditional Tharu dance will be the perfect ending for the day. Tharu is the ethnic inhabitants living in the area. 6 hours of drive.
Home to gharial crocodiles, rhinoceros, different species of birds, species of flora and the Royal Bengal Tiger, jungle activities in Chitwan are exciting and adventurous. Today is yet another exciting day as it will be full of jungle activities. Guests will be mounted on elephant back and 2-3 hour jungle safari will be done in the early morning. Dense grasslands offer the unobstructed views of the wildlife in their natural habitat. The dense elephant grass is the perfect spot for tiger and rhinoceros to stroll around in.
After breakfast, a senior naturalist will be called over to brief around the habitat of elephants. The second of the elephants taking a bath is surely interesting to look at.
After lunch, there is the opportunity to either relax in the resort or embark on optional a jeep safari. Another activity worth carrying out is the canoe ride on the Rapti River. Gharial crocodiles, dolphins, water birds, and otters are present in the beautiful Rapti River. Another option is to go for a nature walk and explore the different species of birds that adorn Chitwan.an evening Tharu dance is an added attraction, giving us an insight to the living style, culture, and traditions of the ethnic Tharu people living there.
We drive to Lumbini via Palpa today. Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site situated in the Rupandehi district of Nepal. Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gaumta on 563 BCE in this place. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Lumbini holds a great spiritual significance and attracts a lot of Buddhists all around the world.
Upon reaching the epitome of peace and beauty, we embark on a rickshaw ride to explore sacred holy sites like the Ashoka Pillar, the sacred pool of Puskarni, Sanctum Sanctorum of the Birthplace, the statue of Mayadevi and the eternal flame. Approximately 5 hours of drive.
This is a well-earned day to explore the Buddhist pilgrimage spot of Lumbini. We take a rickshaw ride and visit the Ashoka Pillar, the sacred pool of Puaskarni, the stone slab in Sanctum Sanctorum, the Maya Devi shrine etc.
The spiritual heart of Lumbini is the Maya Devi Temple which marks the spot where Siddhartha Gautam was born. The Ashoka Pillar is situated in the adjoining sacred garden. The garden also comprises of ancient ruins and monks congregating under a Bodhi tree. The Maya Devi Temple is situated in the middle of the Lumbini Development Zone which was designed by Japanese architect KenzoTange. The stone slab in Sanctum Sanctorum is believed to be the exact birthplace of Gautam Buddha. The Holy Pond, known as Pusakarini is where Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth, and also where he had his first bath. If time permits, we also visit the Lumbini International Research Institute.
Drive to the beautiful “Lake City” of Pokhara, which is situated under the lap of the Annapurna Himalayan range. Pokhara Valley is considered to be one of the most picturesque and revered spots in Nepal. It is rightly called as the lake city due to its abundance of beautiful lakes, the major attraction being the Phewa Lake. These lakes arise from the glaciers of the Annapurna Range. Lakeside is the district situated along the sides of the Phewa Lake. Phewa Lake reflects back the panorama of the beautiful Dhaulagiri, Macchapucchre, Annapurna peaks and other rising above us. Macchapucchre is only 28 kilometers from Phewa Lake and the views of this beautiful mountain are the most alluring from this point.
Phewa Lake is the second largest lake in the Pokhara Valley. It has been for years, the center of attraction of the valley, with a lot of restaurants and hotels situated alongside it. We can boat around the Phewa Lake and visit the temple situated in its middle. Baidam or the lakeside is the home base for travelers. You can also explore the nightlife of the city by visiting the nightclubs and buzzing streets of the tourist destination. Approximately 7-8 hours drive.
Pokhara is a picturesque city which showcases the backdrop of the entire Annapurna range. It is also home to exquisite sightseeing locations. We will embark on a drive to Peace Stupa in the early morning and hike for 30 minutes to return back to the hotel. 1-hour boating in Phewa Lake followed by the visit to the Davi’s Fall, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Mountaineering Museum, Gorkha Museum, Gupteshwore Cave, Mahendra Cave etc.
In the morning, we will be visiting some monasteries located in Pokhara itself, before moving on to pay a visit to the World Peace Stupa. The World Peace Pagoda, known better as the Pokhara Shanti Stups is located atop the Ananda Hill above Pokhara. it overlooks the entire city of Pokhara and the famous Phewa lake. Along with the panoramic views of Annapurna Range, the peace and serenity of the Stupa are worth mentioning.
In the evening, we explore ideas about Tibetan Buddhism by visiting the Tibetan Refugee Center. There are four official containment camps for refugees in Pokhara. These refugees have been denied the opportunities to own land, drive a car or work. They are hence placed and settled by the HNHCR. Many Tibetan refugees sell handmade jewelry carvings, trinkets and carpets to earn a living, while some people spend time tending to crops. The items being sold in these Tibetan refugee camps are genuine in terms of being handmade. You can buy souvenirs for loved ones back home.
To witness the close-up views of the mountain ranges around the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri region, we start off today with an early morning drive to Sarangkot, the highest point of the Pokhara valley, for sunrise views of the perfect looking mountain peaks like Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Macchapuhccre, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, LamjungHimal and much more.
The views from atop Sarangkot are almost a religious experience. The panoramic sweep of the Himalayan peaks from the west to the east, the views from atop the viewpoint in dawn or dusk is extremely alluring. Experience the sun picking out the peaks and transforming from a purple-pink glory to celestial gold beauty. It is finally time to return back to the capital. Drive to Kathmandu.
Early morning Mountain flight is optional, to witness the views of the mighty Everest and the northern mountain panorama from Kathmandu Valley. For those interested, a sightseeing journey around UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Pashupatinath and Boudhanath will be managed.
The day will start off with the visit to the Pashupatinath Temple. Considered as one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world, the richly-ornamented pagoda house adds up to the mystique of the holy place. Called as a form of Lord Shiva, the Pashupatinath temple is said to have existed since 400 A.D. Devotees take a dip in the holy Bagmati River beside the temple.
Boudha is another UNESCO World Heritage Site we will be visiting today. Called as one of the largest stupas in South Asia, this focal point of Buddhism stands thirty-six meters tall. It is located in the path, which was the ancient trade route to China.
After experiencing the major things that Nepal has to offer, it is time to bid goodbye to the topographically, ethnically, religiously variant and peace-loving country of Nepal, only with a promise to come back for more.
